Built in 1907, the striking brownstone was designed in the Federal style with a distinctive jutting cornice and the name Kenosha carved in stone above the front entry. Originally an apartment building, the property was later renovated and converted to approximately 40 one and two-bedroom condos. The Kenosha quickly became a beacon to students, educators, creative types, dining enthusiasts and others who simply appreciate affordability in one of the most vibrant parts of the city. The property is also home to the original Buca di Beppo restaurant at the basement level. The popular eatery’s name translates to “Joe’s Basement,” reflecting its origins and its warm and friendly atmosphere.
