Uptown Lakes
Known colloquially as Uptown, this neighborhood surrounds Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska. In the late 1800s, the area was populated by people who took advantage of the city’s beautiful lakes, easily accessible by streetcar, to build vacation cottages and enjoy boating recreation.
Today, the neighborhood is home to a wide variety of restaurants, boutique stores, entertainment venues, and dozens of gastropubs and bistros, so it’s easy to find a rooftop to enjoy a drink on and watch the sunset.
