Spacious Townhomes and an Ideal Setting Near the River
While the location of record for the Marquette Townhome community is sometimes noted as 207 Bank Street SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414, each of the 20 residences actually has its own address from 201-to-220 Bank Street SE, and 1-to-11 2nd Street SE. Constructed in 1995, the upscale townhomes are quite handsome from the street, with red brick facades and unique wood and glass window bays. The overall appearance melds traditional architecture with tasteful contemporary accents, blending in nicely with other buildings in a historic neighborhood sometimes referred to as Old St. Anthony Main. The complex winds around the corner of Bank and 2nd Streets and is across from Our Lady of Lourdes Church which dates back to 1857. The popular Lourdes Square Townhomes are on the other side of Bank Street, and the La Rive high-rise condo tower is also nearby.
The Marquette Townhomes offer a variety of duplex and triplex floorplans, with the main living and dining areas at the first level. There are two bedrooms at the second level, and in many cases, a top story with vaulted ceilings and skylights that can be used as flex space such as a third bedroom. Three-sided window bays extend from the main level to the second story and are perfect for sunny sitting areas. Hardwood floors are found in the living room and dining room, with tile floors in the front foyer and the kitchen. Large gas fireplaces with lovely mantles add a cheery touch. There’s plenty of natural light from the oversized windows, complemented up recessed ceiling lights. The chef-inspired kitchens are quite impressive, with wraparound stone counters, glass and wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, dining islands, and hanging pendant lights. There can be from two to four baths, depending on the unit. Outdoor spaces typically include balconies and ground level patios. The individual two-car garages are another convenient advantage.
Residences at Marquette Townhomes are rowhouse style with three main buildings, two of which front along Bank Street with the third facing 2nd Street. Each unit has its own small front yard area, and some also have rear patios. Every townhome also has a rear-facing upper terrace as well as its own two-car garage. The pet-friendly community is bordered by trees and landscaping, as well as an expansive front lawn along Bank Street. Another nice perk is all the off-street surface parking for guests. The homes are close to Hennepin Avenue shops and restaurants, and just a few blocks from the riverfront greenbelt with its hiking and bicycle trails. Chute Square with its gardens and playground is right across the street. This popular local park is also home to the Ard Godfrey House, the oldest remaining wood frame home in the Twin Cities.
