Two Towers and a Luxury Lifestyle on the River’s East Bank
Located at 110 1st Avenue NE and 20 NE 2nd Street, Minneapolis, MN 55415, The Falls and Pinnacle are actually two separate but interconnected condo buildings in the same huge complex. Designed by Miller, Hanson, Westerbeck & Bell Architects, the property, with its huge buff-hued geometric sections, was designed in the Brutalist tradition, a somewhat rare mid-twentieth-century style emphasizing bold and distinctive sections. The Pinnacle is a 28-story tower, while The Falls, with its 19 levels, employs a series of terraced forms that were inspired by St. Anthony Falls itself. The complex takes up almost an entire city block in the St. Anthony Main neighborhood and was originally constructed in 1983 as apartment rentals before undergoing a huge renovation process and conversion in 2005 resulting in 257 condo residences in a wide variety of sizes and floorplans. The residential community with its numerous luxury amenities is one of the most desirable in the East Bank river area. Other nearby high end condos include La Rive, Village Brownstones, and Village Lofts.
As you might imagine, with 257 units spread out over two buildings, The Falls and Pinnacle offer a variety of floorplans and sizes for prospective buyers to consider. The 2005 renovation resulted in sleek and modern updates but there have also been numerous remodels by individual owners since that time. The layouts range from studios to three bedroom flats and there are also some duplexes, including seven unique townhomes. While the Pinnacle building rises like an obelisk-like tower, the Falls employs a number of cascading terraces that can result in interesting interior dynamics. The building’s projecting levels also lends to enhanced views, as well as some unique outdoor brick and stone terraces. You’ll find a variety of flooring throughout the two buildings, with wide-plank hardwoods, tile, and carpet. The gourmet kitchens are either semi or completely open, depending on the model, with stone counters, handsome cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances. The townhouse units have stone fireplaces, built-ins, upstairs bedrooms, and extra-large decks that are ideal for outdoor dining. Another nice feature in many residences across both buildings are bonus dens that can be used in a variety of ways.
Residents at The Falls and Pinnacle Condominium enjoy an incredible location on the eastern banks of the river. The pet-friendly property takes up most of a city block, extending from NE 2nd Street to Main Street, and abutting the Nicollet Island Mississippi Bridge. The views of the river, St. Anthony Falls, Nicollet Island, and Stone Arch Bridge are quite notable, as is the proximity to local shops and restaurants. The onsite amenities at this upscale residential complex are also outstanding and far surpass what is found at many condo communities. These resort-style perks include front staff, three outdoor terraces including a landscaped rooftop plaza with an outdoor kitchen, an indoor swimming pool, a hot tub, a fitness center, yoga studio, sauna, a big screen movie theater, multiple community rooms including one with a full kitchen, pool tables, a conference room, workstations with computers and internet, secure deeded parking options in a heated garage, and extra storage.

The Falls and Pinnacle: A Northeast Riverfront Experience
Residents at the expansive Falls and Pinnacle condominium community live about as close to the Mississippi River as you can get without being on a houseboat. The eastern portion of the property is along Main Street which runs along the river’s edge. This is the old part of St. Anthony Main within the larger Northeast area. It is also sometimes referred to as the Nicollet Island-East Bank community, with the adjacent Nicollet Island Mississippi Bridge leading across the river to the small historic island. Views of St. Anthony Falls, Stone Arch Bridge and other local landmarks are part of the attraction at this sought after condominium, as are the many luxury amenities. But there are many other things to do and see in a vibrant community with its top restaurants, boutique retailers, movies, and other attractions. Local coffee shops and eateries include Bruegger’s Bagels, Silver Fern, Punch Pizza Northeast, Aster House, All Saints Restaurant, and Kizzo. There are multiple bridges leading over to Downtown, the Mill District, and North Loop. The University of Minnesota Twin Cities is about a mile and a half away to the south, and the I-35W will help you navigate longer journeys.
