Itasca Lofts: An Enduring Forerunner of the North Loop Scene
The official address of Itasca Lofts is 708 N 1st Street, Minneapolis, MN 55401. That said, actual residences can have differing addresses, from 702 to 716 N 1st St. This is due to the fact that what appears to be one large structure is actually five conjoined warehouses. The interior of Itasca Lofts delivers yet more quirks in the byzantine journey of a historic time capsule, with unique and creatively inspired uses of space. Long and Frederick G Kees and completed in 1886, the former warehouses had long been abandoned by the time Kit Richardson came up with an audacious plan. Richardson, who later became a founding partner in Schafer Richardson, envisioned a revitalized North Loop neighborhood, and Itasca Lofts soon became the guiding light.
